name: Avril Lucrece Bellamy

age: 19

appearance: average height, petit frame. platinum white hair, brown eyes. slightly suspicious of others, but can be kind if you break past that shell.

personality: As a of upper-class upbringing, at first impression Avril can be straightforward and somewhat hard to approach, despite her overall polite impression. She's got a kind heart and tries to help others in need - at least if she knows them well enough. She attends class, and is studying to be a nurse.

Although she's practical, she's still rather naive to matters relating to the surface world. While she means well, but there are often times where she may not realize the severity of others' plights and can come across as a bit insensitive.

Of course, her kindness only extends so far - she will not associate with anyone she deems to be "unnatural" as a result of overall wariness of magic users and humans gaining "unnatural" powers. She's rather easily startled too and quick to accuse if she deems something suspicious enough.

Unfortunately, her wariness with others takes a turn for the worse in one timeline where she (along with a sibling of hers) gains magic and is therefore considered "infected." Though her boyfriend, Kirenz, saved her life through use of healing magic, she was considerably resentful towards him for his gesture as she'd gained a body that could not die no matter what she did.

history:
The world Avril is from is called Telene, which over time has become a harsh and unfriendly environment to live in. The surface became unstable over the years, giving rise to distortions and with them, unknown life-forms known only as "specters." There are many species and life-forms that still reside on the surface - humans included - although humanity's population has dwindled considerably over time despite once being the most common type of species long ago.

Around the same time specters showed up, a mysterious plague began to spread across the land, affecting anyone within close proximity of a distortion or those already infected. Some of those infected began displaying strange abilities, though for many, at a price of losing their grip on reality or their bodies physically degenerating. Some of the people have begun to call them Enlightened, while others just refer to them as Infected. However, this is not the case for everyone, for there are many who become unresponsive, if not catatonic. Some even mysteriously disappear, or become something rather monstrous and inhuman.

Eden is a sky colony constructed to take in those who are uninfected, and as stated before, the government is very stringent about who they allow in and out of the colony. Those who display signs are infection are quickly taken away and at worst are executed, no matter how young or old, and regardless of status. The hostile stance against those "infected" create a considerable sense of uneasiness among the populace - some outright opposed to such treatment, with those who have lost children and close family members. Though it is uncommon, there are some affected who are either asymptomatic or display little side effects.

As a result, some people fought to instead search for a cure instead of quarantining and/or outright killing them, but the government has repeatedly refused to take such action, fearing it would only risk what is left of humanity.

Ignoring all the internal affairs, the colony gives the surface impression of being an utopia, with a handful of cities spread across the colony, and the technology is reminiscent of a very futuristic Earth. Phones and television exists, along with a network equivalent to the internet. Virtual reality is even a possibility, and it's often used by the populace to visit places they would normally not be able to, such as the beach.

Avril's from a city called Azel. She's from a rather wealthy family and has three siblings, with her being the middle child. Her father has a seat not only in the government but the military as well, and is rather unpopular for his hostile stance on those with supernatural ability, even for those where it would not be considered unusual (Fairkind, Terra'cie, etc.). This is what leads to an assassination attempt not only on him, but her and her family as well. Avril is fatally wounded, her younger sister Jeanette (June) is seemingly blinded, and both only manage to escape with the help of her then boyfriend, Kirenz. As she lay dying and quickly losing consciousness from blood loss, he panicked and tried to save her with powers he'd kept hidden up until now. It worked, but gave her a body that she later found out wouldn't die under any circumstances.

Even with the loss of her father, there was no way she or June could remain on Eden without being seized by the government or worse. With the help of Kirenz, she (and her sole remaining family) escapes possible execution and goes into hiding, but not before expressing her resentment towards him for his actions. She quickly abandons him, though she later comes to regret that action.

Until then, her main concern was caring for her sister, June, who's condition was physically deteriorating over time. Her eyes were afflicted with an ability that let her not only see but "hear" a part within people that lets her see "souls" and delve into any past lives within them. It would also allow her to kill them if she took it out and shattered it, which she saw as a form of mercy for some (and herself). To combat this, her eyes are covered in bandages.

When it seems like June's condition has degenerated to a point she's barely even herself (or human) and abandons her, Avril is left alone. She attempts to take her life through trying to burn herself alive, but because she's gained a healing form of earthen magic, her body quickly regenerates. She then attempts to shoot herself, which also proves to be a failure. Ironically, June is the only one who would be able to take her life, yet her sister is unable to carry out the act despite her deteriorating sanity.

Feeling considerable pity for her, an onlooking "spectre" takes residence within her - part of resentment for throwing her life away so carelessly, but believing she can still find happiness if she simply allows herself to look. Avril is unaware of this, and to her it just seems like she's merely hearing voices in her head that she can't discern concretely.
